Chronopost, the French specialist in express delivery of packages under 30 kilos, once again shows its trust in FRAIKIN, its partner for nearly 30 years. The innovative leader in industrial and commercial vehicle fleet management was tasked with providing over a hundred electric utility vehicles to the delivery company. This order is in line with Chronopost’s aim to use only zero-emission-at-exhaust vehicles for deliveries in the city of Paris starting in September 2019. Together, the two partners selected the Nissan brand, the world leader in 100% electric mobility modified to the Voltia Van.
For 20 years, within the framework of a policy resolutely focused on clean urban logistics, Chronopost has been regularly deploying new solutions aiming to promote a balanced last-mile logistics model combining both time and energy savings.
In line with this model, the “last-mile” delivery company chose to act before the deadlines imposed by the city of Paris and make deliveries in the capital city using a zero-emissions-at-exhaust fleet starting in September 2019. The express delivery company is already equipped with around thirty 100% electric vehicles and has worked hand in hand with its preferred partner, the FRAIKIN hire company, on a first order of 118 fully electric utility vehicles of 8m3: Nissan e-NV200’s with the Voltia conversion fully meet today’s urban parcel delivery needs for last-mile delivery. With its compact size, it has up to twice the cargo space volume compared to other electric vehicles in its category, 580 kg of payload capacity and a range of up to 200 km per battery charge – which, for the price (TCO), beats comparable diesel vans in its category.
“We are pleased to have accompanied Chronopost in its will to promote clean and sustainable mobility, a value we both share and which drives the long-term relationship we were able to grow, marked by innovative projects and ambitious accomplishments,” explains FRAIKIN Group CEO Philippe Mellier.
“With the help of our partners, namely the FRAIKIN hire company and manufacturers Nissan and Voltia, we were able to build the foundation for sustainability which now enables Chronopost to keep its commitment to providing clean deliveries throughout the entire city of Paris,” adds Chronopost CEO Martin Piechowski.
“As the number one 100% electric utility vehicle sold in Europe, the Nissan e-NV200 is the ideal van for last-mile logistics with zero emissions at exhaust. As the world leader in 100% electric mobility, Nissan is especially proud that Chronopost, with FRAIKIN’s support, chose the e-NV200 van, adding to the 15,000 e-NV200 vans already on the roads of Europe,” states Nissan France’s Managing Director Guillaume Boisseau. ,” states Nissan France’s Managing Director Guillaume Boisseau
“We are pleased to work with FRAIKIN and Nissan in order to enable Chronopost to cross a new threshold in decarbonising its activity and contributing to air quality improvement in Paris,” concludes Voltia’s Managing Director Juraj Ulehla
