FRAIKIN signs a European-wide framework agreement with DB Schenker

DB Schenker, one of the world leaders in transportation and logistics and Europe’s number-one integrated network, recently signed an agreement with the FRAIKIN Group that covers eight countries in Europe. This extensive agreement underscores the level of trust of the transportation company, which has collaborated with FRAIKIN in France for the past 30 years.

As a global leader in logistics and transportation, DB Schenker supports industry and commerce through the international exchange of goods via road transport, air freight, international ocean freight, contractual logistics, and supply chain management. With over 140 years of experience in logistics, the group strives to provide ever more innovative solutions.
With around 19,000 employees working at 430 sites, DB Schenker is also Europe’s number-one road transport provider. The company’s significant presence in Europe, which is based on a network of around 32,000 regular delivery routes per week, requires an especially well-established in-house operational team.

That is why, for the past 30 years, the group’s French branch has turned to FRAIKIN, a leader in the long-term rental of industrial and commercial vehicles, to provide its delivery services with 12-, 15, and 19-tonnes trucks.

In mid 2017, Schenker AG, DB Schenker’s parent corporation, launched a significant consultation project involving three services, namely purchasing, long-term rentals, and financing. Its goal was to harmonise its fleet throughout Europe with help from a partner who was able to establish a position and operate within the same level of services on a European scale.
In addition to France, this framework agreement also covers Spain, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.

“We are very satisfied with this agreement, which is especially innovative on a legal and contractual level,” explains Olivier Peiffert, Manager of the Transportation and Logistics Department at FRAIKIN France.

“This framework agreement is one of FRAIKIN’s most significant Europe-wide contracts. After it was signed in August, thereby confirming our position as the number-one provider for all services associated with long-term rentals, we received 82 orders,” says Eric Jourdren, International Key Accounts Manager with FRAIKIN.

As a leading provider in Europe with over 75 years of experience, €683 M in turnover in 2017, over 58,000 vehicles in circulation in 15 countries, and 2,800 employees, the group offers safe, competitive, and high value-added solutions for all fleets of commercial and industrial vehicles.
FRAIKIN, which is a pioneer in the use of smart sub-contracting and vehicle fleet management services and a leader in long-term commercial and industrial vehicle rentals, is constantly innovating and adapting to help its 7,000 clients meet the needs of their customers.
